Drawing up some new graphs for the description and analysis of the bioturbation and the cnnofabrites using semi-quantitative analysis methods are used in several sections of Shahejie Formation, Dongying Depression in Shengli Oil Field.Based on various indicators of bioturbation, such as burrows shape and size, burrow abundance and diversity, amount of burrow overlop and the slzarpncss of original sedimentary fabrics, the biaturbation index, in wluch a descriptive grade is assigned to the degree of bioturbation, can be determined. Accordingly,some curvm and histograms of bioturbatirni index in studied sections here Have been drawn. These graphs demonstrate some subtle differences in enmronmental parameters, such as sedimentation rate, benthic oxygen level and micro-hiaius surface, showing details of environmental evolution.The ichnofabrics cnntitnent diagrams in some studied cores can represent various features in ichnotaxa, type, size, diversity and order of emplacement on the same diagram, which casually and clearly portray details about ichnollbrics so that comparative studies can be carried out. This is very useful for those sections with comnlicatcd ichnnfabric contituents in facics analysis.It is more effective if both of bioturbation index curve and ichnofabric diagram for the same section are used in enmronmental analysis. The former can synthetically indicate the general trend of bioturbation and the latter can take sonic parameters,such as the icbnataxa. size, diversity and the burrow ordering, to allow a murr complete description crf the ichnofabric. Therefore, this semi-quantitative analysis method of bioturbation will be one of the important tools for the geological logging in petroleum exploration it is popularized in the future.
