40Ar/39Ar METALLOGENIC AGE OF PAISHANLOU GOLD DEPOSIT IN FUXIN, LIAONING PROVINCE

The Paishanlou large gold deposit occurs in western Liaoxi Archean granite greenstone belt which subjected to high-grade metamorphism. The gold mineralization was controlled by basic and medium-acidic volcanics of the middle-upper parts in the greenstone sequence and E-W striking ductile shear zone. The host-rocks mainly are meta andesitic dacitic volcanic rocks. In order to solve the problem of formation age of major mineralizated period in the Paishanlou gold deposit,we have adopted fast-neutron activatium method to test 40Ar/39Ar age of quartz in gold bearing quartz veinlet-disseminated ore and obtained the age data is 2105.2?10.4 Ma.Spectrum line is characterized by the form of saddle. The base plateau 40Ar/39Ar age is the crystallization age of quartz. The authors suggest that the Paishanlou gold deposit is genetically related to metamorphism and deformation of E-W striking ductile shear zones in the Luliang movement.
