THE RESERVOIR HETEROGENEITY AND ANALYSIS OF SEDIMENTARY ARCHITECTURE IN RIVER DEPOSITS

Based on analyzing the river architecture and the reservoir property, we could establish the link between a reservoir property and the architecture. Three types of river sediments in Upper Member of the Guantao Formation in the Zhanhua Depression consisted of 11 architecture units, in which the accretion units and the edge of river were main reservoirs. The lag sediments and crevasse sandbody were high in heterogeneity because of their low permeability. On the basis of analyzing high resolution sequence stratigraphy, the bed forms, facies diversity and reservoir heterogeneity were obviously with the ratio of accommodation and sediment supply, and the accretion of the cross beds. The river reservoirs were well developed in middle part of the Guantao Formation with the low of accommodation and sedimentation. The results showed that the reservoir heterogeneity was very high, which was related to the distribution of the architecture and the river accommodation.
