A set of abyssal turbidites in the Kuda melange belt of west Kunlun were studied in details along two sections of Yixikegou, northwest of Kuda, and the Xinjiang-Xizang road nearby the milestone of 139 km. The sedimentary characteristics of the turbidite suite were summarized. On the basis of the sedimentary facies analysis from the two sections mentioned above, 7 classes and 14 subfacies of the turbidite suite were recognized, and their sedimentary characteristics summarized and described combining with their genetic explanation, respectively. Further more, 3 kinds of turbidite facies associations which indicated two different sub-environments of a turbidite fan were recognized and analyzed in the vertical sequence of the two sections, with their sedimentary environments being discussed. Combined with the analysis of the other sedimentary characteristics and tectonic backgrounds, it was concluded that this turbidite suite was fromed in a fore-arc basin.
