Taking the Tonghuashan-Yushugou area in south Tianshan mountains as an example, it was found that there existed abnormal characteristics of ductile shear zone in remote sensing image based on the image processes of wavelet transform combining with field survey. The shape, thickness, stretch direction and bend type of the texture on both sides of the shear belt were observably different. The shear belt itself represented negative relief in remote sensing image and the texture behaved filamentary, uniform, dense and directional characteristics. Lens blocks with different sizes were surrounded by high deformed belt. Various complex superdeformed folds appeared as the forms of lunular,flower,crocdile mouth and braid when the shear belt cut through early folds. It was feasible to recognize the motorial direction of the ductile shear belt. The characteristics of the ductile shear belt in remote sensing image had been analysed and summarized by the aid of field survey.
