CHARACTERISTICS OF“MULTI-FACTOR CONTROLLING AND KEYFACTOR ENTRAPPING”OF FORMATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF LITHOLOGIC PETROLEUM RESERVOIRS IN CONTINENTAL RIFT BASIN

The formation and accumulation of lithologic petroleum reservoir in continental rift basin might be influenced by several factors which showed remarkable differential properties, so it was too difficult to explain them using only one single model. The concerned affecting factors might be as follows: the structural belt, tract systems, reservoir phases, source rocks, temperature-pressure systems, as well as basement types of a basin. Based on comprehensive analyses of the relationships among the characters and conditions of lithologic petroleum reservoir’s formation and controlling factors, the paper concluded that whether the lithologic trap could form reservoir or not, it was usually controlled by four major factors: the pass ways of hydrocarbon migration, dynamic conditions of hydrocarbon flow, physical properties of reservoir and the sealing conditions of sand body. The authors aimed to summarize the characteristics by reservoir character of“multi-factor controlling and key-factor entrapping”, so as to play a pushing role both in the theory of petroleum geology and the exploration practice of lithologic petroleum reservoir.
