That how to identify and optimize lithology traps in fault basin quickly and improve exploration efficiency needs the guidance of advanced geology theories and the application of seismic technologies jointly.This paper creates a practical geologicseismic technology series for rapidly finding the scale of proved oil and gas reserves of lithologic reservoirs in complicated fault basin through summarizing the geologic and seismic technologies used during lithologic reservoirs exploration in Tanan sag，Tamsag Basin.In the series，in order to determine the structural background，formations，zones and traps developed for oil and gas accumulation in lithologic reservoirs，different emphasis should be focused on structure，stratigraphic sequence，sedimentary facies belt and accumulation condition analysis，using together with fine structure interpretation，seismic attribute analysis and seismic wave impedance inversion，in different exploration stage.The technology series solve many geological problems and achieve a breakthrough during lithological reservoirs exploration in a short time，and can also be used to direct lithologic reservoirs exploration in similar fault basin.
