Sulphuric and calcic goyazite,occurring as primary sedimentary-diagenitic origin,was collected from the alumophosphate rock and phosphorite of Devonian age in the Lung- menshan geosyncline,Szechuan province.The mineral is white,grey or black in color and isotropic and cryptocrystalline,as nodular or irregular aggregate form.N=1.633-1.636, H=5.7,G=3.152（3.11 calc.）,α0=6.99,c0=16.62,αrh=6.86.Cell contents Ca0.41 Sr0.56 Mg0.12 Fe0.07 Al2.78 （PO4）1.42 （SO4）0.58 F0.06（OH）5.30（H2O）0.64（sample No.Chuan-059） or Ca0.43 Sr0.55 Mg0.31 Fe0.12 Al2.69 （PO4）1.37 （SO4）0.53 F0.20 （OH）5.81 （H2O）0.39 （sample No. Chuan-125）in the rhombohedral unit.This mineral exhibits two endothermic peaks at 700℃ and 1095℃ respectively,and sharp exothermic peak at 900℃ in differential thermal analysis. This mineral was found and identified firstly by Duan Qian-lie and others（1964） as a variety of svanbergite—harttite.But the present author considers that it is formed by isomorphous substitution between Ca2+ and Sr2+,and PO43- and SO42- in woodhouseite- goyazite-svanbergite series.Using the abbreviations Wh=woodhouseite,Sv=svanbergite, Gz=goyazite for the members of this series,the present mineral can be written as Wh38 Sv18 Gz44（Chuan-059）or Wh42 Sv12 Gz46（Chuan-125）,and is thus a sulphuric and cal- cic goyazite.The harttite can also be written in Wh16 Sv49 Gz35,containing 1.02% cerium oxide（E.Hussak）and is a low-sulphuric and cerian svanbergite.
