This paper chiefly explains the recent vertical movements in a region with the data provided by repeated levellings. By analysing the accuracy of the levelling, the data are made reliable. After making a comparison of the altitude of the primary levelling with that of the relevelling, the authers offer a sketch to show the amount of the recent crustal movements. Thus in the whole area a considerable amount of uplifting with smaller amount in the eastern part at a low speed and steep gradient, and a larger amount in the wester part at a high speed and moderate gradient are detected.Within a comparatively short dis- tance,it reveals,as shown in the cross-section,a regional uplift usually with relative depression therein.Basing upon the geological and geomorphological data collected, the recent vertical crustal movements in different tectonic regions are discussed. From the above-mentioned facts there comes a conclusion that the recent tectonic movements in the surveyed area obviously inherit from the older one and show three types of uplifting: 1)Moderate uplift; 2)Inclinal uplift; 3)Strong uplift.
