The study of relative impermeable layer in carbonate rocks is of practical significance to determine the seepage of dam and water reservoir in karst areas. After a analysis of the combination of various rocks in karstificated formation, it is pointed out that the S (numbers of insoluble layers, in %), the T (ratio thickness of insoluble and easily soluble rocks) and the H (thickness of soluble single bed or intercalated beds) may be regarded as indexes for consideration of weak karatificated formation. On the basis of the data accumulated in practice the classification of relative impermeable layers is here also suggested.
