The meteorite described in this paper was found in Beizhai Commune, Weiyuan County, Gansu Province, China. It is located at λ104° 19’27"B, ψ-35°16’28"N.The Weiyuan meteorite is composed mainly of orthopyroxene, anorthite, kamatite, taenite, rutile, olivine, troilite and chromite, etc. According to its mineralogical and chemical compositions and structural features, it should belong to the type M mesoside-rite. This is the first discovery of this kind of meteorite in China.
