Abstract:
In this paper, based on the 3D seismic data in the Tazhong 54Tazhong 16 well area,by means of fault detachment theory and its derived Void Space Description(referred to as VSD hereafter for short)technique, the authors carry out quantitatively calculation and prediction on development and distribution characteristics of the faultrelated fractures in the Lianglitage Formation in the study area, meanwhile, taking well TZ 823 as an example,we introduced and exhibited the procedures to operate the VSD technique and related outcome maps. The results show that,in the Tazhong 54Tazhong 16 well area, the effective fractures are primarily faultrelated ones and they are chiefly distributed along fault planes with strong foldingshaped deformation and drag structures.Alternately, the dual lateral log interpretation of fracture parameters, cores and well testing data support the VSD results, thus,it tends to suggest that the fault detachment theory and VSD technique could be a powerful tool to predict the distribution of structural fractures. These initial efforts may provide us data for further exploration activities and wells deployment.
