Based on the comprehensive analysis and interpretation on 3D seismic data, logging and geochemistry profiles, the static and dynamic development characteristics of fault system are dissected in detail. With the several denudation recovery methods, the strata denudation thickness in Jurassic system, Cretaceous system and Mesozoi system was obtained and then it has been applied to restore the Dongying depression Mesozoic prototype basin pattern. The results show that fracture which is the northwest toward developing from Mesozoic activities constitutes a basin controlling fault system during that period, including Shicun-Pingnan-Binxi fault, two major faults in eastern section of Chennan fault and secondary faults, such as Wanggu 1 fault, Wang 66 fault and Binnan fault. They form a fault basin whose north side is faulted and south side overlapped. Separated by Shicun-Pingnan-Binxi fault, the original reservoir sedimentary shapes two sub-sedimentary areas, one is the east and the other is in the west. More sub-sedimentary areas are formed under the controlling of secondary faults. There exists great differences between the characteristics of Dongying depression prototype basin and the pattern of present basin: It wholly causes for two main sags in east and west. The main sag in east is controlled by eastern section of Chennan fault and divided into several sub-sags by secondary controlling sag faults, presenting a basin-alternating-with-ridge pattern. The stable sedimentation of the main sag in west is controlled by Shicun-Pingnan fault. During this period, the Pingfangwang Qian Moutain and Chunhuacaoqiao nose?like structure have formed while Linfanjia hump and Qingcheng hump have not formed yet.
