In this paper, a new method for calculating the probability distribution function of ore-bearing elements is proposed. On this basis, the ore-bearing cells obtained by the Weights of Evidence Model mineral resources are used as the statistical objects in the Monte Carlo Model, which is “Mineral resources potential assessment method of ore-cell-based Monte Carlo combining Weights of Evidence Model”. This method introduces the mineral space distribution information, metallogenic model and prospecting model and mineralization-prospecting spatial information into the Monte Carlo Method, without having to count the spatial distribution of number of the deposits, reducing the working steps and the evaluation error, improving the work efficiency and automation. A case of mineral resources potential assessment with the new method shows the method effectively and feasibly.
