In order to deeply know reservoir heterogeneity and provide the basis for change of development mode of thermal recovery of heavy oil reservoir, heterogeneity of thermal recovery of heavy oil reservoir were studied which taking Yulou oil bearing sets in some experimental area in south end of westward slope of west depression in Liaohe Basin as an example, In this process, geological data and logging data and analysis and testing data were combined and dotted line-plane research approach and geostatistics method were used too. Reservoir heterogeneity were studied from three parts of well and section and plane. Reservoir heterogeneity of aimed stratum in study area were mightiness, and it was effected by three impact of sedimentary function and diagenesis and tectonism. The sedimentary function took the leading role. Well characteristic of lithologies and well-logging properties had intimate relationship with reservoir heterogeneity. There were three types of sedimentary rhythm model of positive rhythm and inverse rhythm and composite rhythm, and positive rhythm and composite rhythm took the leading role. Sedimentary micro-facies were changed quickly in three-dimensional space which lead the strong reservoir heterogeneity. Reservoir heterogeneity were controlled by the sedimentary micro-facies. Interlayer distributed stable between different single layers, and thickness of them were more than 2 m. Different intension of reservoir heterogeneity were extended from north-west to southeast which fit with source direction. Developed results were effected by reservoir heterogeneity, and area with weak reservoir heterogeneity had fine development effect. Research result of reservoir heterogeneity can provide reference to change of development mode of thermal recovery of heavy oil reservoir.
