New advances in the study of oilfield geothermal resources evaluation

Geothermal resources assessment and utilization in oilfield has always been an important work in low temperature hydrothermal sedimentary basins. The basic concept and evaluation method of oilfield geothermal resources evaluation has been discussed in this paper. Taking Daqing oilfield,Huabei oilfield and Liaohe oilfield as an example,the geothermal resources in these three oilfields have been reevaluated through geothermal field analysis,geothermal reservoir characteristics analysis,rock thermophysical properties test,and according to the new classification system of geothermal resources evaluation in oilfields. The geothermal geological resources in three oil fields of 11 layers amount to 10 934×1018 J,geothermal water resources amount to 86 607×108 m3. The recoverable water resources is 19 322×108 m3,recoverable heat energy resources amount to 425×1018 J. According to 5 kinds of geothermal exploration and comprehensive utilization,the oilfield's geothermal energy development potential has been evaluated. This study will lay the foundation for the evaluation of geothermal resource in China and large-scale geothermal development and utilization in oilfields.
