Quantitative biostratigraphic analysis mehods(RASC and CASC)were used to study the paleontological data of 34 wells in Eastern ZhuJiang(Pearl)River Mouth Basin. The optimum biostratigraphic sequence was established. Ten fossil assemblage zones(RASC zones, in term of RASC distance)were identified, and regional geological time table was set up, which shows the relationship between age, strata, and RASC zones. Then selected wells were correlated. Finally, based on the time-depth curves for individual wells, the subsidence history was analyzed, and the spatcial and temporal variations of tectonic subsidence were revealed.
